Joyce Grimes Cage

Cage, Joyce (Grimes) ALBANY Joyce (Grimes) Cage, 69, was introduced to this world on March 29, 1940 and was escorted home on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 by God's Archangel. Joyce was raised in Chatham, N.Y. and graduated from Chatham High School in 1958. She was employed by the State of N.Y. 31 years. Joyce was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church for 44 years and served in the usher ministry. She was the usher with the warm smile who welcomed those she met with a hug. As we celebrate her resplendent voyage, those left to treasure her memories are her children, Edward E. Cage and Jacquelyn J. Cage; her grandchildren, Je'Nae A. and Je'Loni T. Cage; her great-granddaughter, JasLee D. Cage; an aunt, Katherine Graham of Albany; and a host of cousins. Joyce was predeceased by her mother, Hannah Grimes Clark; her grandparents, John and Eva Grimes; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. The departing and fellowship service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 3 Morton Ave., Albany. Calling hours will precede the service on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment, Graceland Cemetery in Albany.

Thank You for sharing this on your page. I wish I could have been there to show my love and support. Aunt Joyce was a very important part of my life and I will miss her dearly.

Joyce was a very special lady. The day I met her and we hugged for the first and last time, a very strong connection was formed. Her smile was radiant. She is a lady I will never forget. Thank you for sharing your Mom with me.
